Well, the course looks great!  We had some kill over the winter months, but the greens are coming back with avengance. As for the the fairways and rough, this season's early rain has only helped.  While some of the courses in the city are still pumping water, we are actually turning on our sprinklers because what happens west of highway #12 stays west of the highway.

We are just 20 minutes east of the city, but the climate differences are dramatic. Why play a six hour round of "waiting golf," or rush your game because of over capacity when you can zip through a course that has 27 holes and pay only ONE DOLLAR for each hole you play???

During the Winter months when people’s minds are on anything but golf, and course owners flee to warmer climes, Cottonwood Golf Course remained active in the community.  Cottonwood supported the efforts of Prairie Public Broadcasting with donations totaling just under $1,000.  Cottonwood also donated a prize that auctioned for $950 at The Children Foundation’s annual Lip Sync Banquet held at Winnipeg’s Travelodge East.  The event brought in over $25,000 for the cause, with the Cottonwood package leading the auction as top prize.

On a more personal level, Cottonwood has donated another similar prize that will soon be awarded in support of the treatment and rehabilitation of a local cancer survivor.

Cottonwood looks forward to continuing its efforts all throughout the golf season with a key charity golf tournament slated sometime this Spring.
